Mon. late night...
We had a really long day of driving yesterday (Sun.) after leaving TN. We made it to the Walmart campground in Staunton, VA. We have a favorite restaurant in Staunton, Mrs. Rowe's (good old fashioned Southern cooking), and had a late dinner and settled in at the Walmart afterwards. I think later is best for the Walmart. We played some games and then around 9 decided to take a walk to the store (the R.V.'s are generally on the outskirts of the store). We spent an hr. or so perusing the store and then tucked in for the night. I am getting smarter....for the 'light and sound show', I have decided to cover the bedroom windows with towels to keep out the 'spotlights' and put in the earplugs to block out the many sounds. Works like a charm, slept like a rock.
We arrived in Williamsburg, VA fairly early today, around 1:00. We are here for several nights until returning home. This is one of our favorite places to be. We know Williamsburg well (have done it many times) and aren't sure exactly how we are going to spend our time here, just yet. I know I will go to the Pottery one day. Paige plans on tackling the many outlets. The weather here will be in the 70's by day and 50's by night...perfect. VA is beautiful. On our way home, we are planning to stop off at Mt. Vernon (George Washington's home) outside of Wash., D.C.
This WIFI is not sending my emails. I just guess I got lucky with the one in TN. Thanks to you all who are keeping me updated with news of home and those who send me emails without expecting any back. Since our time is winding down here, I won't post, or bother you, with mundane news. If we get our pictures developed, I will post a few of the last ones and will include a closing post then.
I am in hopes to find a TRADITIONAL computer armoire here (kind of like a secretary's desk). Since my home is a Colonial, I figure Williamsburg just might be the place to find such a thing. If you have any suggestions for me, please tell me where I might find what I am looking for.
Have a good week.
Heading to bed.....sleep tight.
