Mon. late night...
We had a really long day of driving yesterday (Sun.) after leaving TN. We made it to the Walmart campground in Staunton, VA. We have a favorite restaurant in Staunton, Mrs. Rowe's (good old fashioned Southern cooking), and had a late dinner and settled in at the Walmart afterwards. I think later is best for the Walmart. We played some games and then around 9 decided to take a walk to the store (the R.V.'s are generally on the outskirts of the store). We spent an hr. or so perusing the store and then tucked in for the night. I am getting smarter....for the 'light and sound show', I have decided to cover the bedroom windows with towels to keep out the 'spotlights' and put in the earplugs to block out the many sounds. Works like a charm, slept like a rock.
We arrived in Williamsburg, VA fairly early today, around 1:00. We are here for several nights until returning home. This is one of our favorite places to be. We know Williamsburg well (have done it many times) and aren't sure exactly how we are going to spend our time here, just yet. I know I will go to the Pottery one day. Paige plans on tackling the many outlets. The weather here will be in the 70's by day and 50's by night...perfect. VA is beautiful. On our way home, we are planning to stop off at Mt. Vernon (George Washington's home) outside of Wash., D.C.
This WIFI is not sending my emails. I just guess I got lucky with the one in TN. Thanks to you all who are keeping me updated with news of home and those who send me emails without expecting any back. Since our time is winding down here, I won't post, or bother you, with mundane news. If we get our pictures developed, I will post a few of the last ones and will include a closing post then.
I am in hopes to find a TRADITIONAL computer armoire here (kind of like a secretary's desk). Since my home is a Colonial, I figure Williamsburg just might be the place to find such a thing. If you have any suggestions for me, please tell me where I might find what I am looking for.
Have a good week.
Heading to bed.....sleep tight.

It's a rainy day here in Nashville, Tennessee. We arrived here last evening (Fri.). We visited Graceland yesterday as we came through Memphis. We did NOT have an Elvis sighting other than his posters, pictures and videos, etc. Ha. My sister Tina has 'seen' him though...she is the expert on Elvis. Trust me.
As soon as we arrived here, Doug made sure he got his Grand Ole Opry tickets for tonight. We were in this area a few years ago and stayed at the Gaylord Hotel (big grand hotel that owns the Grand Old Opry) and went to the show then. We are really looking forward to going again. This year, though, we are staying at the Yogi Bear CAMPGROUND...haha. Also, last time, we found our favorite BBQ (besides the 'home grown' variety everyone is spoiling us with along the way) here. We had forgotten the name of it though. We had our GPS on last night in hopes something would look familiar. After cruising around to two different ones and many miles later, we ended up at the EXACT place....go figure...for the BEST ribs. When you are in Nashville, seek out Jack's BBQ....there are 2 of them. I got some to 'go' and am freezing them. Paige navigates the GPS so after dinner she just 'happened' to find a Krispy Kreme (the best donuts anywhere) nearby (ours have left us back East) so Doug took her to get some. Man are they good when they are hot.
We are heading to VA tomorrow.
It's rainy here. Our first rainy day since we left. I find that very interesting. We have not had to travel in the rain yet....and won't be today either since we are here for the day. Hope all is well with you.

It's Thurs. night.
We are in Little Rock, Arkansas at a KOA Campground. We arrived last night and my Sister Terri, Ben and Abi came down from their home in Springfield, MO. Our cousin, Doreen, took us to a fun Mexican restaurant and we had a great time catching up. We, finally, got to meet Don, Doreen's new husband, who had JUST had a liver transplant. Don's folks are visiting from Colorado and we all had a nice time together. Terri, Ben and Abi slept with us in the fifth wheel and that was fun too. They had to go home around noon today but it was nice to have the short time together. It took Terri 5 hrs. to drive to us...so we appreciated that effort and felt quite special. Today we had lunch at Doreen's (wonderful bbq) and then went to the Peabody Hotel in downtown Little Rock to see the ducks being taken from the lobby's 'pond' on the red carpet to their penthouse suite that cost $90,000! There must've been 30-40 people in the 'audience' watching. Because Doreen told us that we could go to the 'penthouse suite' afterwards, we asked about it. There were only 4 of us who got to see it. I will post the pictures when I get them. THEN you can see what $90,000 buys 10 ducks.
We head out in the a.m. for Memphis, TN. Yes...I admit it...we are going to try to locate Elvis at Graceland...we JUST KNOW he is still alive. We think we will be in Nashville tomorrow night.
A BIG THANK YOU to Doreen, Don, Don's folks, Terri, Ben and Abi for the great time we had in Arkansas. We will always have a nice memory of AR.
Til the next WIFI,

Ah-Ha! I was able to FINALLY put up some more pictures!
Last night (Mon.) we stayed in a WALMART outside of Albuquerque, New Mexico. We had traveled for a very long day from Arizona. The night seemed just right for the Walmart 'campground.' It was late, we were hungry and very tired...nothing would stop us from a great nights sleep. Each of us picked out our frozen dinner at Walmart. It was a brand new Walmart in a very pretty area. The night was crisp and beautiful. The mountains were our backdrop and the sun had just set....we missed it though. It was probably 9 when we ate our dinner. We played a few games of Yahtzee and decided to tuck in early....10ish. (Sounds perfect, doesn't it?) I have decided to call our Walmart camping experiences the 'Light and Sound Show'. There is always our own personal floodlight overhead and sounds galore. Around 3 a.m. we heard a car starting its engine and driving around the lot to come right back and park near us. There was just one other RVer in the lot near us. This went on all night. We figured the guy needed heat and then would try to sleep! Always an adventure (Walmart camping). Before reaching our Walmart stay, we took a ride through the Painted Desert and the Petrified Forest in Arizona.
After traveling all day today (Tues. Sept. 22nd) we are staying in the Elk Creek R.V. Park in Elk City, Oklahoma. We came through Texas. There have been a lot of cattle ranches along the way of every state we've covered so far. Mostly, the cattle are just grazing alongside the hill or in the plain....a calm sight to behold. Texas changed that for us. One ranch was huge. There were penned up cattle everywhere (maybe 20 pens of hundreds of cattle each). Doug said they were penned up for slaughter. I didn't need to see (or know) that. Texas. I must say though, we did not travel into Texas to really get a feel of it. This was just from the interstate as we passed through. I guess it was just an unfortunate sight. Oklahoma has been greener (through the other states, everything has been shades of brown/red mostly) and we are now in Tornado Alley!! I grew up in Tornado Alley though...in Kansas...so it feels like 'home'...ha.
We are covering major ground as we leave here in the a.m. to be in Little Rock, Arkansas for the next 2 nights. I will see family there.
Oh....I had forgotten to mention that when we were in Williams, Arizona (where we caught the train to the Grand Canyon), it is on Route 66. From that point 'til now (OK) we have been on/near/parallel to Rte. 66 at different times. Also, Williams was the backdrop for the movie, Cars (animated Pixar Production, I think). I must see it again....I can vaguely remember the similarities to the town.
I was feeling 'funny' about being 3 hrs. behind you but am now just 1 hr. behind. You know me, don't like to be behind in anything.
Hope all is well with you,
Mary

Late Sunday night (continued....read the post under this one first to make sense out of this!). For some reason I can post words but not pictures tonight. Go figure. As Paige says, I am not suppose to be boring you with our pictures....ha. I call this my 'blah blah blah blog'....especially now that I can't seem to make things a tad more interesting with pictures!
Today we went to Sedona, AZ. It was app. an hr. drive from here. What a scenic drive on 89A....the prettiest so far. We saw the Slide Rocks...where bathers slide down these slippery rocks in the river. We stopped alongside the road at a rest area full of Indian vendors selling their beautiful handmade jewelry. Turquoise is supposedly only found here in AZ. We, of course, bought some. Sedona with the backdrop of the red rocks is a beautiful TOURIST town. We likened it to Ocean City back home....we love it best when the tourists aren't there. Since the elevation is several thousand feet lower than where we are staying (in Williams, AZ), it is much hotter in Sedona. We sure felt it!!! I saw a lizard...nothing else (scorpions/tarantulas)...whew. The people were friendly (as we have found on our entire trip) and we figured they must be happy folks. Sedona would certainly be a beautiful town to live in....as long as town wasn't too crowded with the likes of us tourists.
Some interesting facts about Arizona you might not know...
80% of the land here is considered public land.
You can carry around an unconcealed, fully loaded, weapon!
I have seen many men dressed in their camouflaged clothes, so I asked one in the store if he had been hunting....he said yes, he was hunting elk. I told him about back home...hunting deer (not that I do it but that there is a good chance of getting one for a hunter at home). Elk are huge and much more difficult to 'git'. He said the meat to elk was much tastier than deer because of the foliage the elk eat here is different (good ole sagebrush). Man o man....you git yerself an elk here, it might last you a few years....them 'r some huge animals. (snicker) Oh...and when you see 'road kill' here...the carcas stays on the side of the road (fully intact) because they do not have the birds of prey, like we do back home (or other animals), that take care of this for us! We saw a dead elk on the side of the road today and had to wonder what on earth happened to the vehicle....ouch.
Tomorrow starts our big travel East...but still in the Southwest. It will be a long day for sure. We will be in New Mexico somewhere tomorrow night. We THINK we will be in Oklahoma the next night and then on Wed. PERHAPS Arkansas (in hopes to see my cousin Doreen and sister Terri). My hope is to have WIFI sometime soon....but a better or easier connection than what I've had here. I am thinking it was overwhelmed with activity tonight or something and that is why I couldn't seem to post pictures. I have a lot of them, too. Perhaps you should consider yourself fortunate and just go to bed....ha...that is where I am headed.
'til next time....

Late Sunday night....
I don't understand but I've been trying to post pic.'s here all evening and it doesn't want to seem to let me. Also, it tends to turn my words around (under a picture) and I can't seem to edit it correctly (I am not really wording things backwards in other words!!!). I decided to try to post this little message as a test....I will see if it will allow me to. If it does, I will write more about our day here.

Sat....THE GRAND CANYON!
We are staying at the Grand Canyon Railroad R.V. Park. It is known for the train ride to the Grand Canyon. We took the train today. I highly recommend this way of viewing the Canyon. As part of the ride, we had a fun Western show to watch beforehand. It was well done and very funny. Today marked a special day for the train. It was the 20th ann. PLUS it was the FIRST day for the steam locomotive to run on vegetable oil! The Mayor, all dressed up in his Western suit, was at the show and on the train as well. Train buffs would love this one. We felt famous, or something, as we watched many people out in the middle of nowhere waving at us and taking pictures of the train! The train ride was 2 1/2 hrs. long each way (through the desert and ranch land) and we had 3 hours at the Canyon. On the train, each car had a special person to talk to us, informing us of so many goodies (facts about the Canyon, the land, animals and what to do or where to eat back in Williams, AZ). Also, on the train, the actors from the shoot out were on board and would roam and talk with us. There were really great country singers with their guitars and harmonicas, too. All in all, we felt the train ride was top notch and lots of fun. It sure made it nice to reach the Canyon without the worry of parking.
The Grand Canyon....WOW. Amazing. Although Bryce Canyon was great, the Grand Canyon is just HUGE. It was advised to us to have lunch at the El Tovar Hotel/Lodge at the Canyon. It is the oldest lodge on the premise and is known for the 'whose who' crowd. Since electrical power is not as powerful there as our 'usual', we found the dining room elegant and warm...on a warm day. The food was wonderful and it had an old charm feel. The big picture windows overlooked the Canyon. Oh...there are 300+ condors in the Canyon. We didn't see any but others said they spotted a few with a baby. We saw loads of the red ant hills (mountains to us) along the desert as we were on the train though. We were told some of them were 100 yrs. old. Oh, and we saw the pronghorns (deer)...the second fastest animal.
One of the amazing sights for me is the sky out here. On the way home, on the train, we could see from one end of the earth to the other. The sky is so eventful. In the distance we could see a double rainbow where it must have rained. I am taking it all in. Somehow the NJ sky just isn't quite the same!
Williams, AZ (where we are staying) is a town of 3,000. It is on rte. 66. What a cute Western town! Don't miss it if you come this way. It offers lots of good restaurants and some souvenir shops....mostly tourist traps, I think. The people seem to be warm and friendly. We had a nice dinner at a place that was recommended to us (voted one of the top 25 rest.'s in all of AZ) and it was relaxing after a big day. Afterwards, we went to the indoor pool and hot tub. Nice.
Tomorrow we head to Sedona. We have been informed of ALL the places not to miss there. The ride alone is to be a very scenic rte. that takes an hr. and a half. I'm thinking we should have planned to stay in Sedona a few days. Hmmmm.....we'll see...the charm of having a hunk of time to do this. I hear there are more chances of scorpions and spiders there....yikes.
Good night my special friends and family,

It's Fri. (18th) already!
It was Wed. when I last blogged. On Wed. we left the Salt Lake City area and went to Bryce Canyon, Utah. Wow....what a beauty. Some folks think it is prettier than the Grand Canyon. We stayed there for 2 nights. Saw plenty of mule deer and pronghorns. We also saw baby hummingbirds feeding. We rarely see them back home. We stayed at Ruby's R.V. Park right outside of the Canyon. I think we were the minorities to lots of German and French speaking folks. While the days would be 80 degrees, the nights would be in the 40's.
We headed to Williams, AZ today (from Bryce). We went right through the Painted Desert. Gods hand was definitely into this one.....there were places where I could imagine Him doing sand art...you know what I mean....when you take sand and mix it with water and drizzle it to make sand castles. There were areas that looked like He had done this....just for us. I have never seen anything like it. It took us 7 1/2 hrs. to cover 325 miles today as we climbed to 7400 elevation...through the desert. I think Joli was affected by the ride. She didn't seem herself until we pulled into the R.V. park and she could take a long walk. We are staying at the Grand Canyon Railroad R.V. Park. It was mentioned to us because we can buy the railroad tickets to take us to the Grand Canyon right here....and catch the train. So we will visit it tomorrow (Sat.). It is to be in the 70's by day and in the 30's at night! On Sunday, we will go to Sedona. Williams, AZ is a great location to see several things (or places). They tell me that I might see some tarantulas (NO!!!) and other spiders but that seeing a scorpion here is unlikely because it isn't hot enough. Whew. We gained another hour....now we are 3 hrs. behind home. So far, to date, we have traveled a total of 3, 913 miles. Tomorrow (Sat.) marks 2 wks. into our vacation. We are thoroughly enjoying every bit of it.
Some of you have made comments here. I will post comments to your comments on the page you posted them initially! Got that? So take a look there....and hopefully I won't have a problem doing it. Also, I will post more pictures as I get them. Then you will see Bryce Canyon for yourself...but the pictures never take the place of the real thing. I did not have WIFI at the campground at Bryce (Ruby's). These places will tell you they have it in their ads but when you get settled into your campsite, you can't get it....oh bother. It makes blogging difficult for me....who is already challenged here (on internet)! I am glad I can pull it from my campsite here. We'll be here a few days. Lookout!!!
Good night,
Mary
It was Wed. when I last blogged. On Wed. we left the Salt Lake City area and went to Bryce Canyon, Utah.
Tues...the 15th...We are alive! Did you wonder? My last entry was on Fri...so I will try to catch you up. I will go backwards.
Sat. (12th) We left South Dakota and went to Sheridan, Wyoming. The mountains in Wyoming just got bigger and better. We stayed in the Walmart 'campground' #2 (our second attempt). What a difference this time though. Wendi and Brian (Wendi has been my email buddy for 4 yrs. and Brian is her husband) came to pick us up (since you are not allowed to unhook from your trailer at Walmart) and showed us their town of Sheridan and took us to dinner! Wow....was it the royal treatment. They took us to the Powder Horn which is a beautiful community of homes, a golf club and fine dining. The evening was a total surprise to us and we had over 3 hrs. of great conversation, dinner, tour and friendship that won't be forgotten. It was if I had known Wendi forever. It was fun getting to know Brian and learn about all of his interests...racing motorcycles up mountains, fly fishing and MANY more! We had the best night and Walmart 'stays' won't ever be the same from now on.....I am convinced of that! Thanks Wendi and Brian for making a wonderful memory of Wyoming, (Walmart) and YOU.
Sun. (13th) We left Sheridan, WY and went to Yellowstone. We traveled through Big Horn National Park (beautiful) and had lunch at Buffalo Bill Cody's hotel and restaurant...The Irma Hotel in Cody, WY. Cody is a great town and full of Western history. On our arrival into the only 'full' hookup campground in Yellowstone, Fishing Bridge R.V. Park, we had a bison alongside the road with us. As we parked to check-in, the people were surrounding the poor bison for a picture opportunity. A lady who was in charge of traffic control told the bystanders to get back because they had just had someone impaled for doing the same thing! On our way to dinner at the oldest hotel on the Yellowstone property, The Lake Hotel, we had a HERD of bison (maybe 30) all over the road, side and in front of us! It was raining but Paige was able to get a video which if we can manage to put it on here, we will. It was amazing to see an entire herd...we had seen many small groups of them right beside our truck or in front of us on the road before this.
Mon. (14th) We woke up early (sunrise) since we were told that the best time to see the wildlife was either sunrise or sunset. We saw elk feeding in two different places. It was fun being on the road basically alone. Doug and Paige took in a hike that was led by a park ranger. They said it was very informative (how to preserve the forest in a natural process). They saw a few little critters (marmoset). We saw Old Faithful and mud pots, many geysers and hot springs. There are over 10,000 of these in the park. Yellowstone was the first national park in the U.S. Paige took a video of Old Faithful and will put it on here if she can.
Tues. (15th) We left Yellowstone around 8:30 a.m. and on the hour and a half of winding our way through the park, we saw elk and bison. We traveled through Montana and Idaho (had potatoes for lunch) and are now in Ogden, Utah (outside of Salt Lake City). We arrived here around 4. We have WIFI!!! In Yellowstone we were disconnected (from computer and cell) the entire time. The mountains here are just beautiful. We are surrounded by them.
Tomorrow we will be in Bryce Canyon, Utah for a few days. I will have WIFI so will be more 'timely' here. We hope to get to a Target or Walmart to get some pictures done. Then we can put some on here. It is just amazing how different the terrain is from the farmlands of PA, OH, IN, IL, IA, and some of SD to the mountains of SD, WY, MT, ID, UT. What a pretty country we live in.
We did NOT see bear in Yellowstone though! Grrr.....
I do NOT want to see scorpions or turantulas in Arizona and beyond.
Hope all is well with you,
Mary

Friday night...
'Howdy Pardners'!
Today we toured the Badlands and saw some different wildlife. We, finally, found Target and had our pictures printed. Now you have some pictures to view on here. We are suppose to get rain tomorrow and maybe through the night. We will head out fairly early and our first stop will be Sheridan, WYOMING! I am going to meet Wendi, my email buddy of 4 years. I can't wait. I might not have WIFI for awhile...so stay tuned...and keep looking.
Sure hope South Jersey is still standing after the tornado watch today. Tomorrow, Sat., will be ONE WEEK of travel already. We are having SO MUCH FUN! I would recommend this to anyone who likes to take rides in the car!!! This is definitely one big adventure that I wouldn't want to miss.
Til next time (WIFI)...

Friday...
We seem to get up so early, I am sure it is because of the time change (2 hrs. difference). It's only 8:30 a.m. and we've been up for a few hours already. Last night, at bedtime, we had a storm. I find it interesting to see how storms are so different from one place to another depending on the terrain. It was scary and Joli doesn't like storms, so she slept with us....yawn.
Yesterday we took a ride through Custer State Park and saw all kinds of animals: mule deer, bison and burros (right up at the car and in the road) and prairie dogs. We loved the ride along Iron Mountain Road which takes you through granite tunnels that actually frame out Mount Rushmore. Pictures won't do it justice. It was a curvy road and you would come upon a tunnel that was made out of the natural granite and as you would go through, Mt. Rushmore was in plain view (there were 3 of them in all)....wow. We enjoyed touring through the Black Hills. Later last night, we walked the town of Keystone. The little towns here are rather quaint and sell lots of Black Hills gold jewelry.
Today we are heading to the Badlands. We have been told that it will be overcast and will be good for picture taking.
It's an old joke with me....but I am still trying to find BEAR! Yep, we'd love to see a mother and cub from a DISTANCE! I'll be sure to let you know when we do....I just know we will.
We are hearing about the storms back home....a tornado watch in South Jersey????
Be safe and enjoy your day!
Mary
(This is a 'side' note for 'personal' notes since I can't email.....Happy Birthday Christina...we are thinking of you, have a great day. Kathy, we saw a Scamp yesterday and thought of you and Joe coming out here with yours. Millers....be sure to remember all this since you will be coming out next year!!! Abigail, thanks for your thoughts and prayers...we appreciate them....and you. Terri...paaleeeze keep me up to date with your e-mails, I look forward to them.)

It's Thurs. already! We were on the road all day yesterday and 'landed' near Rapid City in a GREAT campground...for 3 nights. Anyone planning to camp this way, mark this one down...Hart Ranch Campground. It's an upscale resort campground complete with hot tubs, swimming aerobic classes, a restaurant and a pet play area....oh, an WIFI. We are ALL happy here ; ) I met a gal in Hill City (before our dinner at the Alpine Inn...yummm) who owns a shop there and she was originally from the Phila. area. I asked her a lot of questions...where to go, what not to miss, etc....and she asked where we were staying. After telling her, she said 'very tony'....I asked what 'tony' was and she said 'rich'. I said, 'oh no...actually this place gave us a better deal than the others and we couldn't resist!' We learned a new word and now use it as we laugh about it.
After dinner last night, we went to Mt. Rushmore to see the lighting of it and a short movie. It was great seeing it again. I had seen Mt. Rushmore as a little girl and it is unforgettable. The difference this time was the huge entrance and a big parking garage. Before, there was just a scenic overlook. The faces out of rock remain the same....forever.
Today we are going to see more of the Black Hills. The Weinhardts told us to view them when the light is best....sunrise or sunset, for the best pictures. I am afraid this is not going to happen...today anyway. We all agreed that entering this area from the East to the West has been quite thought provoking. We went through many hours of plains to get here. We imagined the settlers coming across and finally arriving to the more lush area of woodlands and mountains. It is beautiful, no doubt.
I am missing my email connections with you. I appreciate the emails that are being sent to me (Terri's especially....Janis, where are you? Others??? At least post a comment from time to time...thank you, Kathy! Don't be afraid....I love the connections anyway I can get them...ha.) Remember, I can receive emails but can't send them...ugh. Any advice to me would be appreciated.
I am hoping to get my pictures sorted through and get some up here soon. I must find a photo place first...drugstore, etc. We've gotten lots of them so far. Sure wish I was better at this blog thing. Have a wonderful day....it's going to be 80 here and 50's at night. Not bad.

Tuesday, Sept. 8 -
It was hard to say goodbye to my family. They spoiled us for our short visit. The memories we shared will always be close to our hearts....until the next time.
We started out from Des Moines at 8:40 a.m. and after traveling through the state of Iowa and half of South Dakota, we stopped at a CAMPGROUND outside of Chamberlain, SD at 4:30 (8 hrs. of driving). It was amazing to see the plains of SD and to suddenly come to view hills on the side of the Missouri River (where the Lewis & Clark expedition traveled). As we sat at a quaint restaurant in the town of Chamberlain tonight, a storm came through the area. It was intense and quite different from what we are used to. The view is endless and the lightning covered the entire horizon. It was certainly our entertainment, while dining, for the evening.
We will see Wall Drug tomorrow (a tourist attraction in Wall, SD) and will be in Rapid City. I will be posting more pictures soon. For some reason I am able to receive emails (so keep them coming to me or post comments here) but I am unable to SEND emails....not sure why. I have several waiting to be sent but with my luck, you will get them when I return home (Terri, Paula, Kathy, etc...) and they will make no sense at all then...ha.

Days 1 - 2
I am still trying to figure out the layout of this blog....seems kind of hard. I don't mean to confuse you. This entry is for all those Walmart (camping) fans. We stayed at our first Walmart the first night. We were so tired that it appeared that nothing would matter or get in the way of a good nights sleep (14 hrs. of driving...700 miles)! The Walmart was near Notre Dame. It appeared to be a very nice area and we had 2 other R.V.'s staying over along with some truckers. All through the night I heard: cars squeeling wheels, ambulances, police sirens, store carts banging into one another, people walking nearby and talking, racing cars, diesel trucks, and more. The lights overhead created a daytime effect. I am not a fan (nor a happy camper)...yet. I am sure we will try again and hopefully we will go to a 'winning' Walmart! We did shop there.....and got a roasted chicken for dinner and along with the salad I made ahead of time, it was a delicious feast!
After the second day of driving, we are now in a nice campground outside of Des Moines. We had a wonderful dinner with Bill (my Bro.) and Nancy. Bill has a new smoker and served the BEST 'experiment' ever....pulled pork. And Nancy's 'experimental' pie (chocolate/pistachio) was great too. They are spoiling us and we are loving it. Oh....and I slept like a rock in a nice quiet campground! Have a great Labor Day today. We will be here and will head out on Tues. for the Badlands.
More later....

The First Two Days Of Traveling
Hey everyone! Yesterday, (Saturday, September 5th) we set out at 4:20 in the morning to start our trip. Driving for 14 hours definitely was tiring. I kept myself busy with lots of reading, drawing, listening to music, watching movies, eating and talking. We passed through Pennsylvania first then Ohio and we stopped at about 5:40 p.m. to sleep over at a Walmart in Indiana. We got up pretty early this morning (Sunday, September 6th) to drive another 8 hours passing through Illinois and then stopping in Iowa to stay for two nights and visit my Aunt Nancy and Uncle Bill! It is nice to be able to hang out with family and have a break from all the driving. We will be taking off again on Tuesday for a whole bunch more driving!! I hope you enjoy all the pictures and we will be trying to update as much as we can although it is hard getting internet everywhere we go.

Welcome
It's almost time for our family to take our big adventure out West. Paige set up this blog and with her help, I might be able to keep up with it. We have a lot of stops to make to see Nat.'l Parks, a few folks and Gods beauty. If you would like to take the venture with us, tune in from time to time. Let's have some fun!
